Scripture Focus:
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12 (NIV)

Have you ever stumbled upon a video or photo that stirred something deep within your soul? Today, I saw a video where elderly people showed pictures of their younger selves — radiant, youthful, full of promise and life. And in those few seconds, I felt both joy and sorrow.
Joy — because it’s beautiful to witness a full life lived.
Sorrow — because time flies. Seasons shift. And we don’t get any of it back.
There was something so humbling about seeing the contrast between youth and age. It was a holy reminder: this life is fleeting. We are all moving from morning to evening, from childhood to old age, from now to eternity.
It made me pause and whisper: Lord, teach me to number my days.

Why “Numbering Our Days” Matters
Numbering our days doesn’t mean living in fear of aging or dying. It means living purposefully — being aware that each moment counts. It’s recognizing that:
Time is not unlimited.
Youth is not forever.
And only what is done for Christ will truly last.
Many people live as though they have forever. But we don’t. The job promotions, fashion trends, and social media clout may seem urgent now — but will they matter in 50 years? In eternity?
Our real legacy is not what we post online, but what we sow into eternity.

A Gentle Wake-Up Call
This is a call to:
Live wisely.
Love intentionally.
Forgive quickly.
Serve joyfully.
Worship deeply.
And prioritize what really matters — our walk with God and our impact on others.
Every day is a gift. Every breath is a miracle. Every season is a seed. What are we planting today that will still matter tomorrow?

Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of life, and for each day You allow me to see. Lord, teach me to number my days — not just count them, but to make each one count. Help me to walk in wisdom, to let go of distractions, and to live in the awareness that time is precious. Help me not to waste my strength chasing things that don’t matter. Let my life be a reflection of Your glory. Let me love well, live well, and finish well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declarations:
I will not waste my days — I will live with eternity in view.
I am a steward of time, and I use it wisely.
My life is aligned with God’s purpose.
Each season of my life has meaning and value.
I honor God with every breath, every step, every day.
I am not afraid of aging — I embrace it with grace and purpose.
